Overall Call:
Waking the Dead is an intelligent and slow paced mature love story. This film is full of astonishingly subtle and rich acting delivered by both leads (Crudup and Connelly). Upon its initial release both critics and audiences were divided - they loved it or loathed it. The story telling method utilized is geared toward a specific taste. The love between the main characters rested upon the actors to deliver what could have been a god awful embarrassing mess if portrayed poorly. The mushy dialogue you have heard before, but here it seemed fresh and sincere. As stated earlier the story can be slow if you're not fully into what's developing on screen. If you want an intelligent drama/love-story with a nice interpret-for-yourself twist, check out Waking the Dead.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Powerful acting by Connelly and Crudup
+ Intelligent love story
