Overall Call:
This film explores many topics of life through stories told by main characters. There are plenty of character types all having their moments throughout the film. The performances are very well fleshed-out and many cameos will keep a smile on you face. Smoke is a bit of an actors film with much of the dialogue resulting from improvisation. The film takes its time and is big on story telling as a vehicle for exposition with interspersed moments of the story being preformed. This one isn't for everyone, but if you do enjoy it check out Blue in the Face. It's a sequel of sorts constructed out of a healthy portion of extra footage from Smoke.

Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Excellent character humor
+ Enjoyable loose script/story
+ Fun cameos
