Overall Call:
If you want funny that's off the beaten path check out Rushmore. The premise alone makes me laugh. The same guys that brought you Bottle Rocket follow up with only a slightly more mainstream attempt on humor. Jason Schwartzman as the lead Max Fischer is just the person for the role. While Bill Murray is funnier than he's been in some time. The movie certainly isn't slow, but it moves at it's own peculiar pace. This is no Jim Carry extravaganza, but a funnier nonbludgeoning humor. The student play Max puts on is worth the price of the rental alone. Check it out.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Odd and brilliant wit
+ Bill Murray in a wonderfully self effacing role
+ Most original script
