Overall Call:
High Fidelity adds to Cusack's "20 something" classics like Say Anything and Grosse Pointe Blank. The story is a perfect backdrop for great comedic scenarios. Both Jack Black and Iben Hjejle are top notch comic relief sidekicks. Enough can not be said about Jack Black, he will be entertaining America with more frequency for some time to come. The story isn't completely original but is delivered in a fresh manner. The take on the characters as inde record store employees is right on the mark. I can actually say this with a modicum of authority having been very close with some; the portraits are quite accurate. All in all the movie moves along at a nice clip and if the record store setting intrigues you, rent it, nuke some popcorn and enjoy.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Funny script and sidekicks
+ Great take on the record store employees
