Overall Call:
From Hell is a stylish retelling of Jack the Ripper from yet another angel. For the most part the new angel is successful. It does seem to have its own drug induced slow pace but everything is engaging enough to look at that I didn't seem to mind. Johnny Depp and Heather Graham share a nice chemistry on screen that helps fuel the believability. The mood of the time period is captured well by the Hughes Brothers (Dead Presidents, Menace II Society). All in all if the description and or trailers have you thinking this may be of interest to you, take the plunge.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Depp and Graham have the right chemistry
+ Period piece feel is captured
+ Interesting take on Jack the Ripper
