Overall Call:
Alexander Payne's follow up to Citizen Ruth is another success. Election has a deep routed bitting wit that you either love or hate; I loved it. The story is told at a nice clip that never seems to drag. There are even a couple of contorted freeze frame shots worth the price of admission. The story accurately portrays different high school personalities that anyone can identify with. Both Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon are wonderful in their roles. It is nice to see such a funny movie follow through with an equally solid story. As a warning the tone takes some rather drastic turns into explicit sexual humor. So you might not want to watch this one with your grandparents. If this sounds like something that will float your boat, set sail to The Sea of Black Comedy.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Superior dark wit
+ Nice quick pace
+ Not your typical comedy
