Overall Call:
Director Richard Linklater accomplished what he set out to do for Waking Life. It is a dreamy, meandering, plotless film chalked full of philosophical banter. If his first film, Slacker, was your cup of mushroom tea then Waking Life will satisfy as well. Many of the same actors appear again from Slacker. The medium used to deliver the film was interesting. Presumably the film was shot in digital and then transferred to the dreamy loose animation. It sure made for interesting visuals. If your not into debating the existence of dream states vs. waking states and what life is all about then the film might make you a bit bored.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Interesting visual delivery
+ If you want to think it will provide the topics
