Overall Call:
Monster's Ball is an absorbing small film about characters that have been dealt brutal hands by life. The leads, Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry, deliver powerfully honest performances. I will be surprised and disappointed if Halle Berry is not given an Oscar Nomination for her role. The movie deals with some heavy themes such as racism and family obligation. If you are in the mood for a film with real gravity and stellar acting check out Monster's Ball.

Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Performances by Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry
