Overall Call:
This is a heavy heavy film. The performances by the leads are all Oscar caliber and certainly worthy of the buzz they are garnering. The second half tends to dwell on scenes to convey characters plight. The scenes are very effective but at times left me wanting the pace to pick up a little. The film seemed to get better and better the more I thought it over after I finished viewing it. It's heavy on development and light on fluff. This one isn't for everyone, but if you are in the mood for what has been described check out In the Bedroom.
Reasons For Recommendation:
+ Tom Wilkinson and Sissy Spacek are excellent
+ Thought provoking drama and well developed script
